Ronald H. Fanning, AIA, PE, CEFP, NCEE was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award at the World Congress on Educational Environments, in honor of his contributions to the educational facility planning industry.

John Plooster is now the new regional sales manager for Code Blue Corporation in central North America. In his new role, Plooster will oversee relationships with firms and dealers that stretch from northern Texas into Canada. For over 15 years, Plooster has excelled as a sales engineer and manager in the telecommunications industry, where he worked with a number of schools to implement new solutions and improve usability and reduce costs.

Lance Cage, LEED AP, a 25-year veteran of the construction and real estate industry, has joined HOK as marketing principal and senior vice president to help direct business development and marketing in the firm’s 17-state North Central Region. Cage holds experience in the health care, higher education, and life science industries, as well as facilitating real estate development. He will work with HOK’s St.

David F. Hales was selected president and chief executive officer of Second Nature, the Boston-based advocacy organization committed to promoting sustainability through higher education. Prior to assuming the position, Hales was the fifth president of College of the Atlantic in Bar Harbor, Maine.

Marsha Perry joins Vanir Construction Management Inc., as the firm’s senior education planner, where she will focus on clients in the K-12 and higher education markets. Based in Sacramento, Calif., Perry will be responsible for developing business through early planning and related services. She comes to the company with more than 20 years of operations, business development, and educational facilities planning and funding experience.

Ronald Benson, AIA, NCARB, LEED AP, has been appointed as the new senior associate for HGA Architects and Engineers. Based in the firm’s Los Angeles office, Benson is a licensed senior project manager with more than 25 years of international and domestic experience.

John C. Furey has been promoted to account executive at Stalco Construction Inc., a construction management firm for K-12 and higher education facilities in the Northeastern region. In his new position, Furey is responsible for the company’s business development and marketing division.

Industry veteran architect, Don Bush, serves on board as the principal and leader of Lord, Aeck & Sargent’s science and technology practices. With nearly 20 years of expertise focused on science and technology project design and delivery, Bush has an act for working with higher education and government research facilities. Most recently, Bush was with Smith Carter Architects and Engineers, where served as market leader for higher education and civilian government.

Jason Morgan has been promoted to vice president of operations at Cadence McShane Construction Company. Based at the firm’s Houston office, Morgan will lead and supervise project management and field staff, ensuring all contract requirements and specifications are met, including safety practices.

Newly appointed South Florida project manager for Charles Perry Partners Inc. (CPPI), Brian J. Hayes will be based in the firm’s southern Florida office in Vero Beach. Hayes rejoined the company in 2009, having earlier served as project manager until 2003. Under his leadership, CPPI recently completed modifications to the Indian River School District Thermal Energy Storage Plants.
