Blach Construction (Blach), a full-service commercial builder serving the Greater Bay Area and Monterey since 1970, congratulates Project Manager Katie Ellington Johnson on her Tribute to Women in Industry (TWIN) Award from the YWCA Silicon Valley.
Recognized as a TWIN 鈥淓merging Leader鈥�, Ellington joined Blach in 2014 after graduating magna cum laude from Boston College and spending three years as an equity research analyst. She quickly transitioned to project engineer, honing her technical construction skills, before taking a brief hiatus to earn her Master鈥檚 in Business Administration from The Wharton School. Ellington returned to Blach in 2017 as program manager of then recently launched innovative prefabricated building solution Folia, which has seen great success in schedule and cost savings for school district clients. Utilizing her diverse skill set, she recently shifted back into the field as project manager of one of Blach鈥檚 top education clients. Most notably, and as a result of her incredible work ethic, initiative and contributions, she has been elected to the Blach Leadership Team鈥攖he executive body responsible for guiding all strategic direction for the company.
