REDLANDS, Calif.鈥擲outhern California鈥檚 University of Redlands has chosen architect Moore Ruble Yudell as the designer and planner of its new University Village. The remainder of the P3 team comprises REACH LLC鈥攁 joint venture made up of Republic Metropolitan, Creative Housing Associates and Arteco Partners. Turner will serve as general contractor for the buildout.

The 30-acre University Village is meant to be the heart and soul of not only the campus but the greater community of Redlands itself. At the village, students, local residents, visitors and others will live, study, recreate and work together. Furthermore, the village will host a variety of multicultural activities.

Housing options will include single and multi-resident options. The complex will also entail restaurants, workspaces and even a new hotel offering a rooftop restaurant to take advantage of the ample California sunlight. The designers are aiming for sustainable building practices including renewable energy sourcing and recycling 鈥済rey water鈥� in the sun-parched region to irrigate its landscapes.

鈥淭his vibrant community will transform the university and city鈥攂ringing much-needed housing, parks and cultural amenities to the community while connecting and leveraging dynamic 鈥楾own-Gown鈥� synergies,鈥� Carissa Oyedele, an associate principal with Moore Ruble Yudell, said in a statement emailed to 糖心少女. 鈥淚nnovation in housing types, flexible programs, and sustainability initiatives will drive the community development, and we’re thrilled to be a part of shaping these 30 acres.鈥�

The development will be directly adjacent to the campus and accessible easily via the local MetroLink rail station鈥攑roviding direct access to Los Angeles 60 miles to the west.

On the current schedule, University Village will break ground in 2024.
